Seien wir mal ganz ehrlich. Die wenigsten von uns haben ihr Bankkonto unter Kontrolle. Unnötige Ausgaben für den zigsten Kaffee und schon fehlen ein paar Euros, die die Taxifahrt nach einer langen Nacht nach Hause bezahlt hätten können. Und von dem Flug nach Thailand, der schon Jahre geplant war, wollen wir gar nicht erst anfangen. Wenn man doch nur einen besseren Überblick über Transaktionen hätte oder sie sogar unter bestimmten Bedingungen einschränken oder verhindern könnte. 

Mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit werden unsere Gebete im Juni diesen Jahres erhört. Wieso fragst du dich? Lass mir dir von Root erzählen. 

Was ist Root? 

Root verfolgt das Ziel, die Welt der Finanzdienste für Softwareentwickler zu eröffnen. Mit einem Root Account und dem Zugriff auf mehrere APIs und dem sogenannten RootCode kannst du Code schreiben, der mit Transaktionen in Echtzeit interagiert, um so die Funktionalität des Kontos zu erweitern. Der Account kommt zudem mit einer App und einer programmierbaren Kreditkarte. 

Beispiele bitte!

Ausgewählte Benutzer von Root haben bereits viele RootCode Apps geschrieben. Darunter Apps, die Transaktionsdaten wöchentlich an Google Sheet versenden, damit man einen Überblick über seine Ausgaben bekommt.
Sehr cool ist auch die Idee, die Tage, an denen Fast Food gekauft werden kann, zu minimieren, um seinen Diät Plan nicht zu betrügen. Dazu einfach auf Basis von Javascript Limits definieren und Zack wird die Transaktion abgelehnt, wenn du dir gerade wieder einen McFlurry gönnen willst. Genauso kannst du auch Benachrichtigungen einrichten, die dich beispielsweise darüber informieren, wieviel Geld du für Kaffee in der letzten Woche ausgegeben hast. 

Mega fresh, her damit!

Wir verstehen die Aufregung, aber momentan ist Root noch im Entwicklungsstadium. Zudem arbeitet nur die südafrikanische Standard Bank mit Root. Ab wann deutsche Entwickler sich an Root ausprobieren können, ist noch unklar. Doch wir sollten dieses Projekt im Blick behalten, denn wenn das Team Geplantes erreichen kann, könnte es Banking neu erfinden.

Whats wrong with my résumé?!

Very good… The first step to improvement is to find the problem. If you are struggling to find a job and you rarely get invited to a job interview, it is very likely that your résumé - let me say it nicely - probably is real bad. But here are 5 tips on how you can pimp up your résumé notably with just a few changes. Your welcome!

1. Don’t be a chatter-box 

Image your résumé is like a conversation at a speed date. You don't have a lot of time to shine. What do you say? About you're favourite cake (cheesecake of course) or do you drop the small talk and get right to the important topics? Your résumé doesn't need to show all the jobs you ever did. If you are applying for a job as banker, please don't mention your first job in a nursery. 

In what job did you collect skills that are important for the role you applying for? Don't try to fill your résumé with ridiculous stuff just because you're scared of blank space. 

2. Embarrassing email adress 

No, “hunnybunny7@gmx.de" ist nicht okay. If you are still carrying around an embarrassing email  from schooldays where the teacher made you create one, please please make a new one! It only costs you a few minutes and looks so much more professional. 

3. Application photo from hell

You decided to add a photo to your application? Then you should definitely keep away from the photos that are made in Disney Land Paris on the Indiana Jones Achterbahn in 2010. It really does pay off to spent a couple of Euros for a professional picture. You can even use it for your Ding Account or you can frame it for mom and hang it up above the fireplace. 

4. Less is more

You really don't need to tell anyone that the long series of numbers is your mobile number. They know. The same applies for mail and home address. Also, Comic Sans MS is not the best choice when deciding for a font. Keep it simple and if possible adjust the style to the role you are applying for.  Create a nice overall picture with key words. Please don't use too much and too small text. The first impression counts. In love and in your résumé. 

5. Don’t play Pinocchio

A study by careerbuilder.de showed that 52% of all employers found out about lies in résumés. It doesn't really appeal to say you were Tom Cruise’s baby sitter or the minister president of a country that doesn't even exist. Better concentrate on the abilities that you really have! Mom would say, “You’re awesome the way you are, sweetie!”.

Gadgets - We all love these small and smart objects, that are sadly branded as bauble very often. We fought the through the crooked jungle named internet and assembled those for you that can seriously simplify your life. 

1. Pilot 

What would you think about a gadget that can help you understand everyone despite their mother tongue? If you wouldn't need to communicate with your holiday flirt via sign language? 

Sounds amazing, I know. Andre Ochoa made this dream true. He developed an earpiece that can translate the conversation with your counterpart and passes it back to you. There’s even the so called “Conference Mode”, that doesn't just let a couple but multiple people participate in the conversation. It also comes with an app that can be used offline and therefore abroad. It will be delivered to the hy office in may. You can definitely expect a detailed review about it from us. 

2. SGML

A kickstarter project, that couldn't be more futuristic. Sgnl makes it possible to call somebody with your finger. Yes you heard right. Your FINGER! You only need to swatch your existing wristband of your smartwatch with Sgnl, that’s it. You can’t only answer a call super quick (because you're not loosing your finger very easily), but the sound quality is also supposed to be very good, cause you’re cutting out background noises with your finger. How it works? Sgnl receives voice signal via bluetooth and sends vibrations up your hand to your finger. The vibrations are echoing when you hold your finger to your ear and intensify the sound. Got it? We neither, really. But what we know: We need Sgnl in our life! This fancy thing will be send to us in august as well. 

3. Estimote 

Maybe you heard of the so-called iBeacons before. The dream of every developer. This small, smart thing can send you personalised content directly to your phone or to screens in your surrounding. This can be really useful in marketing to send costumers discount campaigns or coupons directly to your phone. 4. Cozmo 

Okay, we know we said that the listed gadgets will help you make your life easier. But we just couldn't get round Cozmo. Pardon. This robot is an intelligent little thing. The more you play with him the more skills he’ll learn. And he want’s to play a lot! In case you want to know how Cozmo sees the world, you just need to open the app and you can lead him through his surroundings. If this doesn't make feel like a kid, back in the good old Tamagotchi times! Und yes, we will expect this robot at our office as well some time this year. 

5. Tellspec

Now something completely different: Tellspec is a handy gadget, that can analyse the chemicals, allergens, nutrients and calories in your food. This is particularly helpful when you’re eating at friends or in a restaurant, where you never really know what was cooked with. This gadget is a big help for people with e.g. celiac disease or lactose intolerance.

Amazon Echo is another amazing gadget, that we already reviewed and has taken an important place in our working day. The only problem: We can’t really decide for a music genre. Today blackbelts, trap or maybe classical?

In November 2016 we were all shocked when Google announced release plans for Angular 3, just 6 months after Angular 2. Then it turned out Angular 3 was nothing to happen. Instead, Igor Minar  announced a release plan for the fourth version of the famous JavaScript framework on December 9th 2016 at the NG-BE Conference in Belgium. 

After eight Beta Releases from december till february angular 4 is finally out and we tell you what you can expect!

What’s new? 

Angular 4 is toward compatible with 2.x.x. and supports TypeScript 2.1 and 2.2 with the goal to make it faster and slimmer. If the Team is to believed, the follow-up will even go the extra mile. 

Angular Universal

Universal, the project, that allows developers to run Angular on the server, is now up-to-date again. Furthermore the improved *ngIf and *ngFor can now also be used in Template-Binding. 

Animation Package

Animations are now an own package and not part of @angular/core anymore. That means for those, who don't use animations, the code won’t be provided. 

View Engine

View Engine was improved in Angular 4 and can reduce the size of generated code up to 60%. This represents a significant improvement for mobile applications. 

There’s a catch - StrictNullChecks 

With the latest release the team decided to make TypeScripts strictNullChecks-Setting incompatible with the current version. In the RC-Phase it became clear, that the integration of this function needs more work and the support won’t be possible till version 4.1. Thus problems with existing applications can be avoided.

Prospects - Angular 5

The team has a strict time frame. Each week one Patch/Bugfix release. Each month a minor release and each 6 months a major release. So if we’re lucky, we can calculate on Angular 5 in October this year. In Angular 5 we can expect a model for ServiceWorker, whereat notifications can be imaged. 

We are eager to find out what other optimisations are waiting for us!
